Theme

 

This 14th International Asian Urbanization Conference is being jointly organized by King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and Khon Kaen University (KKU), Thailand, in association with the Asian Urban Research Association (AURA). AURA was established in January 1986 and is housed at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, USA.

It is a non-profit research organization whose primary purpose is to promote the study of urbanization, urban growth and to organize Asian Urbanization Conferences. The conferences are biennial (held every other/alternate year) and have resulted in many publications. The scholarly legacy of the original organizers and the successful history of these conferences have served to brand this conference as of a recognized quality for a diversity of scholars and practitioners across the globe.

The inaugural Asian Urbanization Conference was held at The University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. The conference organizers came to the realization at that time that a continuing scholarly and applied dialogue was needed, thus establishing the conference series. Paper Abstract Submission and Registration

 

Registration & Submission

An abstract in MS Word (*.doc) should be submitted via e-mail to the Conference Secretariat (auc2018aura@kmitl.ac.th). Abstract should be approximately 250 words in length. Abstract must provide information on the description of topic, theoretical focus, objectives, study area, data and research methods, expected findings and significance. For detailed information, please refer to the instruction in Abstract Template. Early submission of the paper abstract is highly encouraged for smooth functioning of the conference. Paper should be written in MS Word (*doc). Please refer to the instruction in Paper Template for further information. Papers will be selected through peer review process and will be considered for publication after the conference is successfully over.

Note:

 It is mandatory to use the “Abstract Template” and “Paper Template”.

 Kindly mention the number of Sub-theme of the Conference in your Abstract and Paper.

 File naming of Abstract and Paper. (compulsory) :

           Abstract : “Abs_SubThemeNumber_LastNameof1stAuthor.doc”

Field Trips

Ayutthaya city and surrounding area: January 13, 2018 (KMITL - Ayutthaya city – Ayutthaya World Heritage Site) Organized by AUC 2018 AURA Committee, participant should contact directly. Please see also "Registration Fee"

 

Exhibition

The exhibition is open for all AUC 2018 AURA participants from 11 January until 12 January 2018, 09:00-17:00 local time. This exhibition will display geography discipline related books, data products, equipment and other useful products and services will be organized during the Conference to encourage interested companies to show-case their products and services.

 

The area assigned for the exhibition will be in Faculty of Architecture, KMITL, (detailed information is to be announced). Allocation of booths will follow “first come first served”. The setup is scheduled for 10 January 2018. The exhibitors are expected to pull down their display on 13 January 2018. Each participant will be charged US$ 300 for each booth. The booth size is 3 meter x 2 meter. It will be provided with 1 table, 2 chairs and lighting. For additional information, please contact Organizing Secretariat
